Giant Steps serves over 400 people each year. Our work depends on our horses, who need regular care to stay healthy. Daily feed, vet care, and shoeing are costly. We offer four tax-deductible sponsorship levels, each renewable or upgradable annually. Every sponsorship helps keep our horses happy and healthy.

The Giant Steps Legacy Circle recognizes donors who include Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center in wills, trusts, IRAs, retirement plans, life insurance, or other estate plans. If you’ve named Giant Steps in your estate plans—or are considering it—please let us know so we can thank you, welcome you to the Legacy Circle, and acknowledge your gift as you wish.

Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center will now host the Linda Rubio Scholarship Fund through a fiscal sponsorship. Created in 2022 by equestrian educator Linda Rubio, the fund helps low-income youth access riding, lessons, and the developmental and therapeutic benefits of working with horses.

Our horses are central to our programs. To donate a horse to Giant Steps, it must be 7–18 years old, healthy at all gaits, calm, and 14–16.2 hands high. Owners fill out a short screening for the director. The horse is then seen in person or by video. Suitable horses start a 60–90 day trial; owners pay board and basic care during the trial. Permanent acceptance follows after a successful trial.
