Giant Steps Welcomes the Linda Rubio Charitable Fund

Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center is honored to announce that the Linda Rubio Charitable Fund will now be housed under its umbrella through a fiscal sponsorship agreement.

Founded in 2022 by longtime equestrian educator and advocate Linda Rubio, the Fund creates opportunities for youth from low-income families who dream of riding but would otherwise never have access to horses, lessons, or the unique developmental and therapeutic benefits of the equestrian world.

Gratitude to Marin Horse Council
Since its inception, the Fund has been generously hosted by the Marin Horse Council (MHC). Giant Steps extends its heartfelt gratitude to MHC and its dedicated volunteers for nurturing this important initiative during its formative years. Their early stewardship ensured that the scholarship could take root and begin transforming lives.

At Giant Steps, our mission is to enrich lives through the power of horses, team, and community. The Linda Rubio Scholarship Fund perfectly reflects that commitment by creating opportunities for underserved youth to develop confidence, community, and a lifelong connection with horses.

About Fiscal Sponsorship
Fiscal sponsorship is a partnership that allows a smaller program or initiative to operate under the legal and administrative umbrella of a nonprofit organization. This structure ensures good governance, financial accountability, and sustainability, while allowing the program’s volunteer team to remain focused on its mission and direct impact. 

Looking Ahead
The Fund currently supports four students annually, covering lesson costs, trail rides, and riding apparel. With Giant Steps’ support as fiscal sponsor, the Fund will have a stable, mission-aligned home for growth and continuity—ensuring it can continue to open doors for children who need it most.
