Question of the Month: What are the Giant Steps Charity Classic Adaptive Classes, and how do I sign up?
Answer: Giant Steps will host its 3rd adaptive classes as part of the Giant Steps 10th Annual Charity Classic horse show. All Giant Steps participants are encouraged to take part in the classes, which are arranged by age and ability and meant to be a fun way for our riders to showcase their amazing skills. Appropriate classes for each level of rider will be offered. The classes are judged, but emphasis is placed on individual success, not on competition, and all riders will receive a ribbon. This year’s adaptive classes will be held on Wednesday, July 31. There is no charge to enter and all participants will be outfitted in show attire at no cost. Classes will go throughout the day with lunch served for all participants and their guests. Participants will be advised of their class times and are not obligated to stay for the entire day, although all are welcome to stay and support their fellow riders. The show is open for all to come and observe, and volunteers are encouraged to sign up to help with the event as well.
Sign up sheets and an informational letter will be sent home along with the participants’ progress notes at the end of the spring term. The deadline to turn in Charity Classic Adaptive Class registration forms is June 29.
