Question of the Month: How can clients who receive scholarships give back to Giant Steps?

Giant Steps is proud to offer an extensive scholarship program for our participants. Approximately 40% of our participants are on scholarship, and 83% of those are on a full scholarship. Annually we award over $100,000 in scholarship funds.
Participants who are on scholarship are required to help Giant Steps by volunteering with our organization and by helping to raise a minimum of $600 annually through fundraising efforts. There are a number of ways to meet these requirements.
The volunteer requirement can be met by helping in a class for a minimum of one session, working in the garden or on facility maintenance, assisting with a special event, helping at an outreach event, or serving on our Speakers Bureau or Client/Caregiver Committee.
The fundraising requirement can be met by setting up a fundraising page via Facebook, GoFundMe, or another service, and asking friends, family and social media contacts to donate, or by participating in fundraising activities such as the Human Race, which is coming up on May 4th.
