Question of the Month: When do you need help from volunteers, and how can I get started?
Answer: We often get the question, “When do you need help?”. While the answer to this question changes throughout the year, in general we tend to have a more difficult time filling volunteer slots in the afternoons on weekdays. This is a time when many of our clients who are in school during the day are able to come out and ride. But if you can’t come at that time, don’t fear. We always need help, so click on the link!
If this is a time when you are available and would like to get involved as a volunteer, you may be wondering how to get started. Good news! The process is simple and straightforward. Visit our website and fill out a volunteer application at https://www.giantstepsriding.org/volunteer-application/. Completing the application takes just a few minutes and it is submitted online. Next, you attend one of our volunteer orientations. We have them approximately once a month; the next scheduled volunteer orientation is February 23rd from 10am to 2:30pm, and we recommend you bring layers, and lunch. Click here to download the 2019 Program Calendar, with a list of all scheduled orientations.
Please note, we do have a minimum age requirement of 14 to assist with classes, and orientation is required. Hope to see you out at the barn soon!
