Giant Steps Charity Classic

For ten years, the Giant Steps Charity Classic horse show at Sonoma Horse Park has brought together top regional, national, and international riders for five (now six!) extraordinary days of competition in support of Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center. As a USEF “AA” rated show, and a World Championship Hunter Rider Event, the Charity Classic brings together the best of the hunter/jumper worlds.

In addition to raising much-needed operating funds for Giant Steps, the show has introduced dedicated equestrians to the exceptional therapeutic riding and ground work provided by Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Your support of the Giant Steps Charity Classic and participation in the exciting events during the show raises much needed funds and brings joy to Giant Steps clients from all walks of life.

Ways to Join the Giant Steps Charity Classic – Something for Everyone

As a class sponsor: Sponsorships provide unique opportunities for businesses to associate their brand with a luxury lifestyle event, and to develop relationships with equestrians and show jumping enthusiasts. Sponsorships range in price from $500-$40,000 with accompanying benefits at each level. Custom benefits are negotiable.

As a Junior Relay sponsor: Now a regular part of the show, the Junior Relay is an opportunity for pony and junior riders to raise money for the Giant Steps scholarship fund, learn about philanthropy, and compete in a fun obstacle course on foot. Sponsorship levels range from $1-5,000, with customizable benefits and branding opportunities.

As an Adaptive Classes sponsor: What started three years ago as a small effort to include our riders in the show has now grown to be a highlight of our year. Because the adaptive classes do such a wonderful job of showcasing all that our clients can do, and because it is quite possibly the happiest day of the year at Giant Steps, we now invite not only sponsors to observe, but all board members, key donors, and others who need to know about our program. Two years ago, one of our board members served as a judge. She said that in the one day of serving as a judge she learned more about our program than in the three years previous – from how our instructors set specific goals for each rider to how our volunteers are uniformly trained to seeing how our horses are true therapists for our riders. We have continued to expand the adaptive classes so that others might have some of the insights our board member experienced. Sponsorship levels range from $3,500-5,000, with customizable benefits and branding opportunities.

As an Auction Donor: Through auction donations, the Charity Classic provides unique opportunities for businesses to associate their brand with a luxury lifestyle event, and to develop relationships with equestrians and show jumping enthusiasts. The Charity Classic Online auction will reach >100,000 people through social media, equine list serves, and ads in equestrian magazines. Donating an item for auction offers a fabulous opportunity to build brand awareness and support a wonderful cause. Past lots included unique and special items, behind-the-scenes experiences, and exciting travel opportunities.
