10th Annual Giant Steps Charity Classic
July 30-August 4, 2019
Sonoma Horse Park, Petaluma
For nine years, the Charity Classic horse show at Sonoma Horse Park has brought together top regional, national, and international riders for five extraordinary days of competition in support of Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center. As a USEF “AA” rated show, and a World Championship Hunter Rider Event, the Charity Classic brings together the best of the hunter/jumper worlds. In 2019 we’re returning to a six day format to accommodate the increasing level of interest and participation.
In addition to raising much-needed operating funds for Giant Steps, the show has introduced dedicated equestrians to the exceptional therapeutic riding and ground work provided by Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Your support of the Giant Steps Charity Classic and participation in the exciting events during the show raises much needed funds and brings joy to Giant Steps clients from all walks of life.
We hope you will join us in making this year’s 10th Charity Classic the best yet!
Ways to Join the Giant Steps Charity Classic – Something for Everyone
As a sponsor or auction donor: Through sponsorship and auction donations, the Charity Classic provides unique opportunities for businesses to associate their brand with a luxury lifestyle event, and to develop relationships with equestrians and show jumping enthusiasts. Sponsorships range in price from $500 to $40,000 with accompanying benefits at each level. Custom benefits are negotiable as well. Contact Beth Porter for more information.
For businesses that would prefer to support with a product or experience donation, the Charity Classic Online auction will reach >100,000 people through social media, equine list serves, and ads in equestrian magazines. Donating an item for auction offers a fabulous opportunity to build brand awareness and support a wonderful cause. Past lots included unique and special items, behind-the-scenes experiences, and exciting travel opportunities. We are always looking for new donors and special items! Contact Katherine Theus for more information.
For pony and junior riders, as a Junior Relay participant: Now a regular part of the Charity Classic, the Junior Relay is an opportunity for pony and junior riders to raise money for the Giant Steps scholarship fund, learn about philanthropy, and compete in a fun obstacle course on foot. This year will feature a Magical Creatures theme (Unicorns, Dragons, Fairies, Mermaids, and more!) and will also see the return of the hobby horse. Contact Katherine Theus for more information.
As a supporter: Join us at the Giant Steps Hardt Arena on Wednesday, July 31st and watch our clients in action! The Giant Steps Charity Classic Adaptive Classes are show classes specially tailored to fit the needs and challenges of our clients; join their families and caregivers and cheer them on at what is easily the highlight of the year. Classes run approximately 10 am-3 pm, with a break for lunch.
